Sally Martin

Sally sits near some stairs and smiles to the camera

A sheep genetics consultant Sally is passionate about rural communities, agriculture and more specifically the Australian sheep and wool industry.

Growing up on a grazing property on the Monaro region of NSW, Sally studied agriculture at the University of Western Sydney, Hawkesbury. Her career has taken a number of paths from working with NSW Department of Primary Industries to now running her own consultancy business in Young that services commercial and stud sheep producers and service providers to the industry.

Sally’s business is one of nine involved in Meat & Livestock Australia’s (MLA) Future Livestock Consultants Program initiated to address the decline in public extension and farm advisory services.

She has a vision for a united wool and sheep-meat industry and believes that by unifying these production systems via measurement and reason it will provide clear direction for sheep producers and the industry as a whole.
