Sophie Hansen lives and manages a holistic deer farm with her husband Tim and their two children near Orange in Central West NSW.
After studying print journalism at the University of Canberra she began a career in feature writing for food and lifestyle magazines both in Australia and Italy.
Sophie’s work focusses fundamentally on primary industries and producers. Her ambition is to provide farming businesses and rural communities with the skills they need to use social media platforms channels more effectively within their businesses.
As someone whose primary income depends on agriculture Sophie understands the importance of a positive marketing and media profile. She believes it is fundamental in building ‘social capital’ which in turn will deliver transparency, engagement, trust and ultimately financial returns for primary producers.
In addition to this, Sophie writes and photographs for her popular blog Local is Lovely, hosts a range of farm events and runs food photography and styling workshops.
