Chris Lane coordinates the NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) node of the Invasive Animals Cooperative Research Centre (IA CRC). The IA CRC aims to counteract the impact of invasive animals through the development and application of new technologies and by integrating approaches across agencies and jurisdictions. It is the first time that research, industry, environmental, commercial and government agencies are working together on such a large scale to create and apply solutions for invasive animal threats.
Chris joined NSW DPI in 2005 in his current position after more than 12 years in the Rural Lands Protection Board System in NSW as a Multi-Skilled Ranger, before becoming the State’s Pest Animal Manager with State Council.
