The September FSG Webinar discusses the wide range of commercial tests available to industry, and anecdotes about the many and varied lab test requests that the Lab receives, including tests that have revealed the dilemma of a diabolically over fertilised farm and water contaminated after recent bush fires.

The September webinar was presented by Amanda Musgrave, Customer Service Coordinator at the Wollongbar Environmental Laboratory, with input from a panel of lab experts to answer audience queries including Wollongbar Chemist - Steven Leahy, Technical Coordinator - Craig Hunt, Lab Coordinator - Sara Morison, and NSW DPI Senior Research Scientist - Dr Sophie Parks.

Amanda Musgrave

As the first point of contact for lab inquiries Amanda Musgrave helps customers select the right tests to meet their requirements, provides advice on sample collection, and assists in explaining test report analysis.

Amanda is a Science Graduate from the University of Southern Queensland who has previously worked with the CSIRO Agriculture Research Laboratory in Brisbane and the Tweed Shire Council Water Laboratory.

She began her career with the Department of Primary Industries (DPI) as a Technical Officer in the NSW DPI Chemical Residue Laboratory at Lismore. She then moved to  the Regional Veterinary Laboratory in Wollongbar before joining the Environmental Laboratory in 2008.

Wollongbar Environmental Laboratory

The NSW DPI Environmental Laboratory has been operating at Wollongbar since 1997.

The laboratory has held continuous NATA accreditation for water, soil, plant and other matrices since 1999.

The lab is also ASPAC and WaterChek certified, and provides independent, reliable and accredited analytical services to researchers, farmers, councils, universities, consultants and the general public.
