The welfare of other livestock species in NSW is protected by legislation and supporting Codes and Standards. Other livestock species may include emu, ostrich, deer and buffalo.
The following documents are prescribed under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1979 (POCTA). It is a requirement that people involved in the use of livestock must comply with these documents.
The documents listed below are prescribed under POCTA. Although they are not mandatory, they may be used as evidence of an offence in court proceedings.
