Objectives
- Enable key NSW primary industries to better plan and respond to a changing climate through effective adaptation.
- Provide the evidence base to support NSW government policies and plans influenced by the effects of climate change on primary industries.
Activities
Engagement
Identify industry needs for, and current activities in, climate change risk and adaptation.
Review
Review of previous climate change impact and adaptation research and current activities for each industry.
Development modelling approach
Develop vulnerability modelling approach to capture climate exposure risk and sensitivity of key primary industries.
Conduct modelling
Conduct modelling and analyses to evaluate climate risk and adaptation options for primary industries.
Outcomes
Short term
Profiling of current adaptation in primary industries.
Identification of climate change risks to primary industries across NSW.
Identified best bet adaptation strategies for future climates.
Medium term
Improved profiling of climate change risks and impacts to primary industries across NSW.
Evidence of the value of adaptation to reduce climate impacts to primary industries.
Long term
Improved capacity of primary industries across NSW to better plan and respond to climate change.
