Name:Humanely destroy animals with firearms
Description:

This course is designed primarily for rangers, vertebrate pest officers, livestock managers and veterinarians who may be called upon to euthanase sick or injured livestock, or destroy pest animals in the course of their duties or as part of an emergency disease response.

Participants must bring a form of Government identification complete with a photo, such as drivers licence on the day of the course.

Cost and location:

$775 per person or $8500 per course (Maximum 12 participants)

Course cost does not include:

  • venue hire of training
  • catering for participants
  • cost of hiring rifle range, provision of firearms and ammunition

Client is to provide the above facilities and resources for the course, and to book venue, catering and rifle range. If trainers' firearms and ammunition are used by participants, ammunition will be charged out at cost.

This course can be held in any region with suitable rifle range and training room.

Course outcomes:
  • You will be able to safely and confidently handle a firearm
  • Know the fundamentals of firearm safe handling
  • Use a firearm to euthanase stock or destroy pest animals
  • Be familiar with your responsibilities as a firearms licence holder in NSW
