Rural women asked to ‘thrive with style’

The physical appearance of the years of drought much of the State has endured might have gone, but there is still a long way to recovery according to Industry & Investment NSW drought support workers.

“In many cases stock has been sold off and crops not harvested, so income is still tight,” says Gunnedah support worker Jenny Croft.

“We have organised a day called ‘Thrive with Style’ to give rural women a few pointers to help keep their households and communities on track, and also to add a bit of personal colour.”

Speakers Sandra Martin and Natalie Shepherd will address effective communication strategies, goal setting and achieving outcomes, self esteem and self confidence, and colour and style.

“Women do a lot to hold the family together and the day will be helpful in teaching them some simple steps to use these elements,” Jenny said.

“It will be a fun day as well.”

The day will begin at 9.30 with coffee and registration and go to 3pm.

Lunch is provided and there is no fee as the day will be funded by the drought support program.
