Aerial acrobatics in Cumberland State Forest

Cumberland State Forest at West Pennant Hills will become the open-air stage for a spectacular flying trapeze act as part of a new forest adventure play to be performed on Wednesday 14 January.

Produced by State Forests of NSW in conjunction with Rob Martin Productions, the performance will take place among the towering eucalypts of Australia’s only metropolitan forest and is sure to be great entertainment for families seeking to outdoor holiday entertainment.

Incorporating loads of audience participation, comedy, singing and daring aerial acrobatics, the event promises to be a memorable day out for the whole family.

“The play is a great way for kids to learn more about forests as a productive and renewable resource,” said Cumberland State Forests acting senior ranger, Susie Kable. “The characters describe the environmental benefits of forests including clean air and water, healthy soil and biodiversity, while explaining the concept of sustainable forest management.”

Playwright Rob Martin has been involved in the production of music and theatre for more than 20 years and strives to provide high quality and innovative entertainment – which certainly is the case with the Cumberland play.

The play stars experienced Sydney performers Genevieve Moran, Ari Levananel and Simon Brook McLachlan.

Performances will run for approximately one hour and will be held at 11:00am and 1:30pm. Tickets cost $5.50.
