The early bird catches the … croissant?

Cumberland State Forest invites early risers to the Early Bird Breakfast being held in the forest on Sunday 16 May.

“The Early Bird Breakfast activity starts with a leisurely stroll through the eucalypts, led by a member of the Cumberland Bird Observers Club,” Cumberland senior ranger, Susie Kable, said.

“Cumberland is haven to more than sixty species of birds, including the musk lorikeet, satin bowerbird and powerful owl, many of which can spotted amongst the trees along many of the walking trails.”

Breakfast at Café Saligna near the Cumberland information centre is included at a total cost of just $12 for adults and $6 for children under ten years.

Susie said families can also enjoy the other Bush Breakfast and Cumberland Croissants activities held in the forest on Sunday mornings. “The breakfast activities are ideal for families with young children because they combine a wholesome breakfast with fun forest activities for the kids,” she said.

“It’s a great chance to enjoy the beauty of the bush and the minimal cost of $8 for adults and $4 for kids makes it great value for Mum and Dad.”
