Bago Road traffic disruptions

Traffic on Bago Road near Wauchope will be disrupted for short periods from 2 August to 12 August to ensure the safety of the public during timber harvesting in the adjacent Burrawan State Forest.

“Part of this operation will involve tree falling alongside Bago Road which will require some traffic control, as harvesting occurs within two tree lengths of the road,” said acting harvesting forester for Forestry Corporation at Wauchope, Scott Mallyon.

“We will have professional road traffic controllers on the job to ensure the short closures run as smoothly as possible.

“The operation will affect 3 km of road west from the Pacific Highway/Bago Road intersection.”

Mr Mallyon said the timber harvested from Burrawan State Forest would be processed by Australian Solar Timbers, Koppers and Boral into products including telegraph poles, flooring and construction timbers. The traffic disruption will occur between 7.30 am and 4 pm.

Public enquiries regarding the closures should be directed to State Forests office in Wauchope on 02 65853744.
