NSW Dairy Industry Action Plan

The NSW Government is committed to supporting the dairy industry in NSW and responding to, and delivering on the ambition of the NSW Dairy Industry Action Plan (Action Plan).

Both industry and government will play a role in implementing the Action Plan.

The Action Plan makes 28 recommendations. The first recommendation concentrates on the oversight and implementation of the Action Plan.​

The remaining 27 recommendations are spread across the four primary themes of:

• Research, Development & Extension (RDE)
• Confidence
• Skills & Business Resilience
• Stronger Futures

The Action Plan was developed by the NSW Fresh Milk and Dairy Advocate, Mr Ian Zandstra and the NSW Dairy Industry Advisory Panel.

Dairy Action Plan Implementation Panel

The Dairy Action Plan Implementation Panel (DAPIP) was established in May 2022. Mr Rob Cooper was appointed as the Chair of the DAPIP, with Mr Phil Ryan appointed as Deputy Chair.

DAPIP consists of a mix of industry stakeholders, delivery organisations, research groups and government agencies, who are working together to oversee the implementation of the 28 recommendations of the Action Plan.​

An updated Action Plan Progress Report is released on a six-monthly basis to keep the dairy industry, and other interested parties, informed of the progress and development being made by DAPIP in the implementation of the recommendations of the Action Plan.
