The battle against the next drought begins today with the NSW Government announcing a combined $64 million in the 2021-22 NSW Budget over four years for the ‘Future Ready Regions’ strategy that will help farmers and regional communities grow, thrive and plan for the future.
The NSW Department of Primary Industries is urging landholders and primary producers across NSW to complete a survey to help with their evaluation of the NSW Government’s recent drought relief measures, before the survey closes next week.
A review of drought support for primary producers will recommence with a survey to gather farmer feedback on the most effective measures that helped them manage their businesses in the face of the recent drought.

Farmers affected by storms which hit Cabonne and Oberon LGA earlier this year can now apply for Agricultural Natural Disaster Assistance through the NSW Rural Assistance Authority.

The Federal Government has threatened to walk away from farmers unless states and territories meet the funding shortfall for the Emergency Water Infrastructure Rebate (EWIR) Scheme, Minister for Agriculture Adam Marshall said today.
