Forest Industries Innovation Fund

The NSW Government is committed to driving sustainable growth across NSW forestry industries.

The $34 million NSW Forest Industries Innovation Fund loan scheme will provide long-term low-interest loans to projects that contribute to supporting industry innovation and the exploration of new markets for forest products.

Since launching the Scheme in October 2018, seven projects have been approved totalling approximately $11.3 million. The Scheme remains open and the NSW Government is calling for project proposals.

Given the potential loan size (up to $5 million) and technical nature of potential projects, applicants are encouraged to speak to the NSW Rural Assistance Authority in the first instance to discuss eligibility and loan conditions.

Applications must meet one or more of the following objectives:

  1. Improve the profitability of the NSW timber industry and drive employment growth;
  2. To drive new investment and innovation to enhance the NSW forestry industry;
  3. Position the NSW forest industry to adjust and capitalise on new opportunities.

Application forms and further information are available on the RAA website.

The Forest Industries Innovation Fund loan scheme supports the delivery of the NSW Government’s Forestry Industry Roadmap.
