Forest Industries Innovation Fund

The NSW Government is committed to driving sustainable growth across the NSW forestry industries.

The $34 million NSW Forest Industries Innovation Fund loan scheme will provide long-term low-interest loans to projects that contribute to supporting industry innovation and the exploration of new markets for forest products.

Following a successful first round in November 2018, the NSW Government is now calling for project proposals for rounds two and three. Given the potential loan size (up to $3 million) and technical nature of potential projects, applicants are encouraged to speak to the NSW Rural Assistance Authority in the first instance to discuss eligibility and loan conditions.

To assist forestry businesses appropriately consider funding opportunities and potentially build into business planning, the NSW Government has also provided advance notice of funding rounds over a 12 month period.

Round 2 is now open – closes 3 May 2019

Round 3 – closes 13 September 2019

Applications must meet one or more of the following objectives:

  1. Improve the profitability of the NSW timber industry and drive employment growth;
  2. To drive new investment and innovation to enhance the NSW forestry industry;
  3. Position the NSW forest industry to adjust and capitalise on new opportunities.
