Biosecurity eNewsletter

The audience for this newsletter is individuals and organisations with an interest in keeping our trees healthy and free from new and emerging biosecurity threats. This includes government biosecurity experts, local council tree management officers, foresters, arborists and tree care professionals, golf course superintendents, botanic gardens staff, community groups and the public.

The Aims of the NSW Forest Biosecurity eNewsletter are to:

  • Raise awareness of forest biosecurity issues and threats, thus leading to early detection of exotic insect pest or pathogen incursions.
  • Engage stakeholders — primarily in urban forests and plantation forests — in general surveillance (and response activities when applicable).
  • Be a conduit for information on forest biosecurity.
  • Spread the word on the importance of keeping a look-out for anything unusual that could be an exotic pests or disease that threatens our urban trees, plantations and native forests.

The newsletter is produced by NSW Department of Primary Industries Forest Science Unit and complements other initiatives on forests and tree biosecurity including the Peri-urban Environmental Biosecurity Network, the Botanic Gardens Biosecurity Network, and the Gateway pests of NSW online course.

So sign-up and join this informal network of forest biosecurity enthusiasts.
