Greg West
Greg is based at Port Stephens Fisheries Institute and joined Fisheries in 2000 as a Fisheries Technician. He is currently employed as a Spatial Analyst within Marine Ecosystems.
Greg’s research focuses on mapping and monitoring the spatial extent of estuarine macrophytes in NSW. His role includes the mapping and monitoring of these habitats as well as investigating temporal change and the anthropogenic impacts that may be influencing these changes. He is also involved in the development of new mapping technologies and techniques as well as reporting on the current status of these habitats. Greg also has a significant role in the deployment and delivery of spatial data and is a lead developer of the Fisheries Spatial portal data delivery service.
