NSW DPI has worked with the community to drive stronger primary industries for over 130 years. Across NSW, more than 650 research staff operate on a combined land holding of 13,000 hectares over 28 sites, including three hatcheries. These research stations play an important role in the economic and social fabric of their towns by providing jobs and conducting research that directly helps local primary industries businesses.
A number of our research sites have significant anniversaries in 2023.
We’re celebrating these anniversaries and the history of DPI with open days at the following sites in 2023.
