Her background is in soils, pastures and the grazing industry this also includes livestock emissions, climate change and extensive livestock in variable landscapes project work.

Clare currently works in the On-farm carbon advice project in low emissions agriculture. However, for 17 years, she was the Agronomist with NSW DPI for the Armidale District. She supported many state and national research and extension teams in the soils, pastures, grazing and landscape management space. She has been part of many projects at the beginning and through to the end using a variety of extension tools for awareness-raising and practice change. She spent nine years with Central Tablelands LLS as a pasture officer. During that time, she engaged farmers with new (and old) research and worked in supporting surveys to inform priorities for directing priority research work.

She has co-delivered workshops such as Prograze, Landscan, Paddock plant identification, Soil and Pasture health workshops and carbon fundamentals. She has also developed pasture fundamental workshops and biodiversity workshops.
