Allen Benter
Dr Allen Benter leads the Climate-Smart Pilots project in the NSW Primary Industries Climate Change Research Strategy. He is based in Orange, NSW, and has been with NSW DPI since 2017 developing hardware and software tools for farmers and research teams. His research has focused on the applications of the Internet of Things and the data value chain within primary industries.
Prior to joining NSW DPI Allen was a lecturer in computing at Charles Sturt University. His PhD research investigated ground penetrating radar imaging for underground mining applications.
Allen leads a multi-disciplinary team of computer and agricultural scientists demonstrating how technology can help farmers adapt to the changing climate and increasing climate variability.
