Biography

Michael joined DPI in 2002 and held various extension focused positions within the agency working with land holders in the Hunter Valley on business planning, irrigation management and climate risk management.

In 2008 Michael moved to the Riverina and worked closely with the Riverina Dairy Industry providing support during the Millennium drought and in 2010 took up a research role at the Wagga Wagga Agricultural Research Centre with the DPI Climate Impact and Adaptation team. Since joining the climate team Michael has led a number of research projects focusing on quantifying potential impact of projected changes on both dryland and irrigated productions systems across the state and exploring viable adaptation options for farmers. Michael has a particular interest in integrating biophysical and economic modelling and is looking at building on this existing base through the completion of a Masters in Agricultural Business Management.
