Joanna Pardoe
Joanna brings expertise in social science and climate change to lead the Climate Vulnerability Assessment Team
Joanna has a background in human geography with a focus on the interface between people, environment and climate change. Joanna’s early career in academic research centred on the impacts of climate driven hazards (floods and droughts) for communities in Europe and then Africa. From her PhD onwards, she has developed a particular interest in the impacts of climate change for agriculture and the communities dependent on agricultural production. Her current work aims to understand the potential impacts and adaptations for agriculture, forestry and fisheries to climate change.
Joanna strives to ensure her work results in information that is presented in ways that are clear and easily accessible, tailored to producers, industry bodies and government. Key outputs from her work can be found on the DPIRD Climate Vulnerability Assessment webpages: Climate Vulnerability Assessment of Primary Industries | Department of Primary Industries
