Farms of the Future

Supplier Expression of Interest

Supplier Expression Of Interest - Closed 12 August 2022

The NSW Government is working to connect suppliers of innovative agricultural technology (Agtech) IoT devices and connectivity solutions with farmers looking to adopt new digital solutions for their business.

The Department invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the opportunity to participate in the grant program, and be included as a panel supplier in the Farms of the Future Agtech Catalogue (the Catalogue), for the Department of Regional New South Wales (DRNSW) with oversight by the NSW Department of Primary Industries (the Department).

Suppliers have the opportunity to feature Ag IoT devices (Agtech), on-farm connectivity solutions (connectivity solutions) and/or independent integration dashboard (integrated dashboard) products, in the Catalogue, as part of the grant program, to be delivered in 11 target LGAs:

Griffith

Leeton

Carrathool

Moree Plains

Armidale

Narrabri

Orange

Cabonne

Ballina

Byron

Lismore

The NSW Government has committed $48 million for an expanded Farms of the Future Program (the program). The program will encourage farmers in the four target Ag Sectors of Livestock – Beef & Sheep, Cotton, Grains and Horticulture – Tree Crops & Vines, to adopt connectivity solutions and Agtech to boost productivity and improve resource management, including water efficiency and drought preparedness.

The program is part of the NSW Government’s Future Ready Regions strategy, that lays out the government’s plans to support and work with regional communities, farmers and industries, enabling them to become more self-reliant and better prepared for the impacts of future drought events and other economic and environmental events.

The program has two core streams of investment:

Extension and Capacity Building: the development and roll-out of a multifaceted education and capacity building campaign aimed at building farmer and supplier knowledge of the benefits and uses of Agtech.

Grants: the provision of grants for farmers in eligible LGAs to establish connectivity and incentivise Agtech device uptake and de-risk investment.

The focus of this EOI is for suppliers to apply to be listed in the Catalogue from which producers can select Agtech IoT devices, connectivity solutions or integrated dashboards to support their application for the grant.
