Estuarine aquaculture is primarily oyster cultivation that takes place within 33 estuaries across NSW, from the Tweed River in the north to the Wonboyn River in the south. Oyster cultivation is undertaken on aquaculture leases. These leases are submerged Crown land that are leased by the State government to farmers for the purpose of oyster aquaculture.
