Future Ready Regions EDIS Development

The Future Ready Regions EDIS Development aims to provide farmers with world-leading weather and climate data so they can make better business decisions. The NSW Government’s Future Ready Regions program has contributed $4.3m to NSW DPI to undertake this work over three years from 2021-2024.

The Enhanced Drought Information System (EDIS) was first developed in 2015-2016 and is currently a tool for seasonal conditions and drought monitoring, risk management, and preparedness. This information is delivered primarily to Government and community stakeholders.

The Future Ready Regions EDIS Development project is a stakeholder driven program that will expand the scope of NSW DPI’s services as well as improving the quality of the information to support business decision making.

These improvements will be released as three Farm Services Packages, and a Government and Community Service Package during 2022 to 2024.
