Rainfall Totals

Rainfall was highly variable during April.  

  • The highest totals were recorded in the northeast of the state, and to the north of Newcastle.

Year to date rainfall has been highest in the northeast of NSW, where above 1,000mm has been recorded.

Rainfall Percentiles

April rainfall has been average, to above average for large parts of NSW.

  • Rainfall deficits were observed across parts of Central Tablelands, Riverina, Murray, Western and South East LLS regions.

Calendar year to date rainfall percentiles vary across NSW.

  • Higher than normal rainfall has been observed across much of eastern NSW.
  • Rainfall deficits remain present for large parts of western and southwestern NSW, and areas in central NSW
