Rainfall Totals

Rainfall was widespread and highly variable during June.

  • The highest totals were recorded in the far northeast and eastern Murray LLS region.
  • Low rainfall totals were recorded in western NSW and parts of the Greater Sydney LLS region.

Year to date rainfall has been highest in the mid-North Coast region, and in parts of the far northeast of NSW.

  • Rainfall totals above 1400mm have been recorded since the start of the year.

Rainfall Percentiles

June rainfall has been below average for large parts of eastern and western NSW.

  • Above average rainfall was recorded in parts of southern NSW during June.

Calendar year to date rainfall percentiles vary across NSW.

  • Higher than normal rainfall has been observed across much of eastern NSW.
  • Rainfall deficits remain present for large parts of western, southern and central NSW.

Rainfall percentiles are compared to the 1980-2020 baseline record.
