Rainfall analysis

Rainfall Totals

Rainfall was widespread during April, with the highest totals along the NSW coast.

  • The higher rainfall totals in the east were driven by an East Coast Low that impacted parts of NSW in early April.

Rainfall Percentiles

High rainfall percentiles were observed in April 2024 compared to the 1980-2020 baseline record for many parts of NSW.

Calendar year to date rainfall percentiles are variable across NSW. Rainfall deficits remain in central north NSW, the Murray region and along the southeast coast.
