Tropical fruit

Tropical fruits are grown on the north coast of NSW. Many of these crops have specific site requirements and producers need to take care these requirements are going to be met prior to crop establishment. The main crops grown are macadamias, bananas and avocados with others grown to a lesser extent.

NSW DPI has research officers located at NSW Centre for Tropical Horticulture at Alstonville. Extension officers are located at Alstonville, Coffs Harbour and Murwillumbah.

These officers work in close association with the various industries.
