Ed Fagan, 2015 NSW Farmer of the Year

Ed Fagan operates Mulyan Farm, 1602 hectares located in Cowra, Central West NSW. It comprises of three main enterprises – livestock, broadacre farming and intensive horticulture.

Ed trades cattle, breeds and trades fat lambs and grows wheat, canola, maize, and oats. In addition, horticultural crops are grown including beetroot, asparagus and red and brown onions. Mulyan Farm is the only commercial baby leaf spinach producer in NSW, producing up to five semi-trailer loads every week.

Mulyan Farm needs to be intensively managed due to the variety and level of production, and undertakes a wide range of research projects and trial sites together with industry partners.

Ed is one of the founding partners of the Bayer CropScience Partnering with Innovation Think Tank, bringing in 15 farmers from across Australia for innovation research and extension.
