Mark Bouris of the television shows ‘The Mentor’ and ‘The Apprentice Australia’ is set to headline the list of speakers at the inaugural Young Farmer Business Program Conference to be held in Dubbo early next year.

Designed to inspire, motivate and provide critical business, finance and planning skills for young farmers and fishers, the Conference boasts a number of high profile experts on its program.

“The inaugural Young Farmer Business Program Conference will include a fantastic range of speakers and its focus will be on business skills, finance, planning and giving inspiration to participants to not only survive, but thrive in the primary industries sector,” said Team Leader, Young Farmer Business Program Alex Hicks.

“Mr Bouris will deliver the keynote address and we are looking forward to his insights that will help young people to build business skills which are so important to succeeding in agriculture. His experience of just what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur will be invaluable for participants to hear.

He can provide insights into how businesses in different sectors deal with the various challenges they face, and how to deal with unexpected challenges that crop up.

The Conference is expected to attract around 200 young farmers and fishers aged between 18 and 35 from across NSW and spots are filling quickly.

“We are seeing excellent interest in the Conference, in fact, the Farm Tours component of the program is already sold out. Ms Hicks noted.

Conference participants will learn about the drivers of successful primary production businesses, the support services available and the steps needed to achieve their dreams.

“I have no doubt participants will walk away with the business skills, connections, knowledge, inspiration and a clear vision to achieve their dreams, said Ms Hicks.

A wide range of trade exhibitors will also be on hand to answer questions and offer advice and young producers will be able to network with others who are, or have been, on a similar pathway.

Another highlight of the event will be a panel session with leading industry experts who will share their stories and insights including Allan Parker of Peak Performance; wool producer Nigel Kerin and insect farmer Olympia Yarger.

Tickets for the 2020 inaugural Young Farmer Business Program Conference will be available until Friday, 24 January 2020 with Early Bird registrations closing on 31st December 2019.
