Primary industries natural disaster damage assessment (PiNDDA) reports

The data collected by the Primary industries natural disaster damage assessment (PiNDDA) surveys are analysed and results are available for use for recovery purposes. Data is refreshed hourly during business hours.

A selection of the data gathered across all emergencies since 2023 (data back to 2020 will be uploaded in stage 2) is available publicly. Data is only available by an individual LGA or as an event summary for all LGAs. Filter by the date of the event, the event type and the LGA area to obtain data for the emergency of interest.

A report containing further analysis and more detailed enterprise data for individual events by LGA may be requested from the DPI Emergency Management Unit on emergency.operations@dpi.nsw.gov.au depending on the use requirement.

Key information to note:

  • Final damage reports are produced for the majority of events and should be used for official figures. These may be different to the live data reports available on the website. Contact emergency.operations@dpi.nsw.gov.au where official event figures are required.
  • Further information about data collection and collation may be obtained by contacting emergency.operations@dpi.nsw.gov.au
  • The data is unverified landholder data and may contain unexplainable or incorrect figures. The data may be periodically cleansed and reviewed for accuracy resulting in inconsistencies between reports.
  • Damage is known to be underreported in most cases but is intended as a representation of the extent, severity and location of damage rather than an exact calculation of loss incurred. Damage valuation is based on long term average yields and prices, but where prices are significantly higher, may be updated for specific events.
