North coast blueberry growers have the opportunity to hear the latest research at the first blueberry roadshow hosted by Department of Primary Industries to be held at Woolgoolga and Coffs Harbour.

NSW DPI blueberry development officer Melinda Simpson said NSW DPI scientists and industry speakers will provide growers and industry partners with the latest information on blueberry research and their practical on-farm application.

Growers will hear the latest information on the use of soil amendments to increase soil carbon and reduce greenhouse gases, flower and fruit thinning to improve fruit quality and the benefits of integrated pest management.

The important subject of rust management will be discussed and also an update on the EPA compost project conducted on the north coast.

Roadshows will be held:

  • 15 December at Woolgoolga Bowling Club from 12.45 pm to 5.00 pm
  • 16 December at Coffs Harbour Park Beach Bowling Club from 8.45 am to 1.00 pm
