Legislative review and public consultation
Industry & Investment NSW is responsible for administering a large number of Acts and Regulations, many of which are reviewed periodically.
The review of an Act or Regulation, or proposals for a new Act or Regulation, often involves the release of documents for public consultation, such as discussion papers, position papers, Regulatory Impact Statements, draft Regulations, and Better Regulation Statements.
Non-legislative policy proposals may also involve a public consultation process.
During a public consultation period, all relevant documents can be found under 'Public consultation' below.
The purpose of a Regulatory Impact Statement or a Better Regulation Statement is to show that the costs and benefits of any proposed Act or Regulation have been fully considered and that the proposal will provide the community with the greatest benefit.
All final Regulatory Impact Statements and Better Regulation Statements can be found under 'Regulatory Impact Statements' and 'Better Regulation Statements' below.
