The NSW Department of Primary Industries (the Department) will be implementing new authority conditions for holders of exhibited animals as of 1 July 2023. There will be a 6 month implementation period that will enable authority holders to develop their plans in accordance with the conditions.
The Department recognises the importance of continuous improvement of the welfare of animals and ensuring community expectations are being met. For this reason, the Department are improving requirements for compliance and upholding good working practices for authority holders.
