Origin: Chance seedling, Ben Atkinson, Batlow, Australia, 1950.
Tree: Moderate vigour, tip bearer.
Disease and
pest status:
Susceptible to mildew, resistant to scab and woolly aphid.
Chilling requirement: Quite high.
Blossom and
pollination:
Mid season.
Delicious, Jonathan, Granny Smith.
Fruit shape: Medium large, flat conical.
Skin and
flesh:
Bright solid crimson red over most of surface.
Very white, crisp, sweet and juicy.
Harvest and
yield:
Mid to late March, just before Delicious.
Medium to heavy yield, fairly regular.
Storage: Quite long, better than Jonathan.
