Summary

The cherry industry is rapidly expanding in Australia to meet increased global consumer demand. To continue sustainable growth, the industry needs to produce high yields of good quality cherries and improve market access.

For a current industry situation analysis, 52 NSW growers were interviewed and encouraged to discuss their production, challenges and opportunities for research.

This report includes the outcomes from these interviews, including targeted areas for research and development for the NSW cherry industry.
