Land-based Permit Conditions

STDFARM - Land-based Aquaculture

  1. The permit holder must only dispose of dead or diseased fish or marine vegetation at a facility licensed as a waste management facility under the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997, or disposed of ‘on-farm’ such that the disposal method does not significantly adversely affect groundwater or local amenity.
  2. The permit holder must maintain a record of all sales and disposals of fish or marine vegetation for a period of five years from the date of sale or disposal of the fish or marine vegetation. A copy of the sales record must be provided to the purchaser or recipient of the fish or marine vegetation. The sales record must be written legibly in English and include:
    1. The full name and address of the seller including ABN or ACN and any registered trading name;
    2. The aquaculture permit number under which the fish or marine vegetation were cultivated;
    3. The date of the sale or disposal;
    4. The name, weight or number and total value of each species of fish or marine vegetation sold or disposed;
    5. A unique sequential identifying number allocated to the sale or disposal for the purposes of the record; and
    6. In respect to the sale or disposal of live fish the record must include the name (including the registered trading name if applicable) and address of the consignee or person, business or company taking possession of the fish.
