Calling all game bird hunters... are you effective?

Don't wing it: Be an effective game bird hunter is a safety and awareness initiative for hunters who hunt native game birds in NSW.

In NSW, native game birds can only be harvested under the Native Game Bird Management Program, which sets out an ethical framework that allows hunters to assist landholders manage the impacts of native ducks.

Don't wing it supports hunters and landholders to understand the important rules and regulations when hunting native ducks and ensures all participants have the correct information to hunt legally, ethically, safely and responsibly.

Developed by DPI in partnership with the Ricegrowers' Association of Australia, NSW Police and a number of hunting organisations, following extensive consultation with stakeholders and local communities across the Riverina, the initiative helps to better communicate key messages to hunters and private landholders.

  3. Be ethical
  4. Be responsible.
