NSW Game Hunting Licence holders who have updated their licence to participate in the Native Game Bird Management Program are subject to special licence conditions. The native game bird conditions are attached to a letter that confirms the licence holder's eligibility to hunt native game birds under the program. These conditions apply in addition to standard licence conditions and other hunting rules.
The conditions were updated in September 2022.
The holder of a NSW Game Hunting Licence, who proposes to kill native game birds under the authority of a Native Game Bird Management (Owner/Occupier) Licence, must:
Before your hunt:
a. obtain and record the number and type of native game birds remaining for the Native Game Bird Management (Owner/Occupier) Licence allocation (total licence allocation), in the Native Game Bird Hunter Diary supplied by the Regulatory Authority no more than 48 hours before commencing your hunt.

After your hunt:
b. record the total number and type of native game birds harvested across all properties in the Native Game Bird Hunter Diary supplied by the Regulatory Authority, before leaving the property upon completion of your hunt.

Finalising your hunt:
c. lodge a Native Game Bird Harvest Return with the Regulatory Authority, recording the total number and type of native game birds harvested under the Native Game Bird Management (Owner/Occupier) Licence, within 48 hours of completion of your hunt.
