Bee Biosecurity Code of Practice

Developed by industry for industry, the Australian Honey Bee Industry Biosecurity Code of Practice includes basic measures all beekeepers in Australia to help minimise the impact of pests and diseases on bee hives.

Key elements of the code are:

  • registration
  • reporting diseases
  • hive inspections
  • controlling or eradicating pests and diseases
  • maintaining records
  • hive construction and labelling
  • neglected hives
  • assessment
