The Bureau of Meteorology has recently made changes to how climate drivers are reported. DPIRD will be reviewing how climate driver information is reported in the State Seasonal Update over the coming months.
Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD)
The latest weekly value reported by the Bureau of Meteorology of the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) index was -0.02°C (as of 2 February 2025).
The Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) is the difference in sea surface temperatures between the eastern and western tropical Indian Ocean.
